Wasaga Community Theatre is proud to announce our 2025 Fall Production…

Wasaga Community Theatre is proud to present
The Stand
a sharp, funny, and heartfelt comedy by
Canadian playwright Jennifer Walton.

When a beloved patch of forest is threatened by development, one woman finds herself caught between lifelong friendships, family tensions, and an unexpected protest.

With wit, warmth, and a touch of rebellion, The Stand explores what happens when you draw the line — and then stand on it.

Meet the Director
Laura LaChapelle

Wasaga Community Theatre is proud to welcome back Laura LaChapelle as the Director of our 2025 Fall Production, The Stand by Jennifer Walton.

Laura has been a cornerstone of the local theatre scene for over three decades, having directed and produced dozens of youth and adult productions across Simcoe County. She is known for her inclusive, collaborative leadership style and a clear, creative vision that brings stories to life in vibrant, accessible ways.

A long-time supporter of WCT, Laura has directed, performed, stage managed, and served on the WCT Board in previous seasons.

Beyond the stage, Laura mentors young performers and was honoured with the Town of Wasaga Beach Youth Mentorship Award and the Chamber of Commerce Inclusion Award.
We’re excited to watch Laura guide this timely and heartfelt comedy about protest, friendship, and finding your voice.
